I've Walked This Path. It Inspired Me to Build Astra.

Moving from an international dental degree toward dentistry in the United States is a journey filled with ambition, learning, and new possibilities. I know because I've walked that path myself.

Along the way, I learned how much purposeful practice matters. Picking up the handpiece, refining a technique, receiving clear feedback, and trying again helped me turn preparation into progress. That experience inspired the space I wished I had: a place to rehearse with purpose.

I have practiced dentistry in California for more than a decade since earning my DDS in 2014. Every day, I see the connection between preparation, repetition, and confidence in carrying out a task.

Astra grew from a specific idea: give internationally trained dentists a dedicated space for realistic bench simulation, focused repetition, timed exercises, and real feedback. The aim is to help participants recognize what needs attention and approach their next practice attempt with a clearer purpose.

Knowledge matters. So does the opportunity to apply it, review the result, and try again.

I also own Smile Now Dental Studio, next door to Astra in Pasadena. Eligible Astra participants may have access to a complimentary two-week observership, offering a view of the workflows, technology, and patient communication used inside a working U.S. dental practice.
